Project Manager
The key responsibility of the Project Manager is maintaining an open line of
communication with the stakeholders while guiding business supporting projects
on time and within budget to success.
A Project Manager is tasked to create an environment in which the goals and
objectives of the business client can efficiently be met. For your corporate
project, I will assist in clarifying your requirements into a plan, provide
resource leadership, manage execution and change control of that plan and
resolve interim conflicts.
Key Benefits
- Hiring a contract Project Manager will allow your business to maintain your
organizational structure without overburdening them with new roles and
responsibilities relative to a temporary assignment.
- Hiring a contract Project Manager puts experience, training and skills in
place that can plan, execute and successfully close a project in a minimum of
time. This will eliminate the learning curve normally required for employees to
assemble a project.
- Hiring a contract Project Manager who can negotiate conflicts and
turbulence during a project, allows the business units to focus hostilities on
the Project Manager and maintain internal relationships.
Reference Examples
- I have been able to step into the shoes of outgoing Project Managers who
have left their posts in the beginning of long term projects and assemble
pertinent information and cooperation. Marathon Oil and Unilever Scripting
projects both had this situation.
- At Unilever, the contractor who was the Project Manager, left due to his
incompatibility with the clients. I was serving as a scripting engineer under
this Project Manager and moved into his position to pick up the
responsibility. I was able to repair misconceptions held by the end users and
client leadership to a state where the project could proceed to subsequent
milestones.
This project needed more structure and definition to the process and
communication of the same to the stakeholders and their subordinates. I
documented the full life-cycle process and provided roles and responsibility
outlines using a combination of Visio, MS Project 98, MS Excel and narrative
in MS Word. In concert with the Program Manager, and with his buy-in, we were
able to gain much needed consensus and participation.
I also assembled an all encompassing Access database to provide an
end-to-end tool to gather and distribute application requirements to the
various parties and teams involved.
- Midway through the project, resources were outsourced from digital India
and brought to the US for training and hands on experience. I assembled the
documentation required and taught these technicians Wise scripting techniques
and best practices. Also, integrated into this training was the unique
structure of this clients standard desktop image.
