Project Manager - Robert Watkins
My name Robert D. Watkins (RDWatkins for my networking groups and
Bob Watkins in recent contracts) and I am a PMP Project Manager and owner of
ContractMCSE.com as well as
RDWatkins.com. I am
currently on sabbatical from my consulting business in order to complete my
degree and gain additional formal studies as a Project Manager. I am based in
Cumberland Maryland and will consider Virtual Project Management opportunities
during this study period. Once complete with my BSBA degree, I will be
relocating to the Washington DC Metro / Northern Virginia area to resume my
Project Management Consulting business.
I am interested in Project Management positions only. My
technical skills and experience are a great adjunct to my PM work in Information Technologies but,
I intend to progress further in
the management space exclusively.

COMPLETED July 13th, 2007 - Unilever
contracts lasting since January of 2001. Many simultaneous projects across
several IT disciplines.

COMPLETED April 29th, 2005 - pre-requisites
for candidacy and obtain the PMP PMI (Project Management Institute)
certification. (look me

Experience:
I have been in the IT consulting field since early 1997. Below
are my primary consulting contracts since that time:
- Unilever Global Infrastructure Organization -
Trumbull, CT. - Technical/Global Project Manager assignments include: Data
Warehousing, Global Service Request, Sun Identity Manager, Centralized
Messaging migrations, Web Portal implementation,
the Project Scripting Lab, Wise scripting consultant, Digital India
Manager/Mentor, QA test planning and coordination consultant. My current
contract is as a Customer Engagement Specialist supporting the Customer
Engagement Management Group in implementing a portfolio of various
infrastructure and application development projects. This is being
accomplished during a full reorganization to a Matrix Project Resource model
with cross functional impact to all projects.
- Marathon Oil - Findlay, OH. -
Wise scripting consultant, project QA team manager and User Acceptance Testing
coordinator.
- NovaCare - Pittsburgh, PA.
(territory included multiple offices in IL., PA. and MD.) - network engineer
and project manager for Y2k remediation, database consolidation, disaster
recovery initiatives.
- Kraft Foods - Winchester, VA. -
Y2k remediation for 13 eastern plants project implementation team lead (from
the plant floor equipment PLCs to the desktops), manufacturing plant build-out
IT support.
Certifications:
I currently hold the PMI (Project Management Institute) PMP
certification in addition to the following technical certifications: Comptia's
IT Project+ (IT Project Management) MCSE NT 4.0, CCNA, MCP+I
and A+ certifications.
